How we research, write and check what we publish.
Sources
Every article lists its sources. We prefer official sources, then established news outlets and industry publications. We link to the original wherever we can.
Use of AI
We use AI tools to help with research and first drafts. An editor checks facts, figures and quotes against the sources, rewrites where needed, and is responsible for what is published.
Updates and corrections
The "Updated" date on an article changes only when we have reviewed or changed its content. If you spot a mistake, tell us through the contact page and we will correct it.
Independence
Visit Ras Malé is an independent guide. It is not connected to the Government of Maldives, the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) or any developer.
Our other websites
The same team runs Maldives Investments, HandyMaldives, TaskMV and Hitraisers. Promotions for them are always labelled "From our network" and kept separate from articles and adverts. Maldives Investments lists property for sale and rent, including in Greater Malé. That doesn't change how we report on Ras Malé, and where an article touches on something our other sites are involved in, we'll say so.
